Richard Stallman (also known as RMS) is the founder of the Free Software Movement, author of EMACS, etc.
He is often criticized for making funny jokes that people over react to because they have nothing better to do. Because RMS made this one joke (and apologized for it afterwards), all women programmers hate him to death because they want to hide the fact that the awesome and amazing GNU project was started by someone with a Y chromosome. Also, since women can't actually program, they have plenty of time to do it.
They (oops I mean we) also hate RMS despite the fact that he has lobbied on countless occasions to abolish sexism in the United States. But let's still put him in the "Sexualized Presentation Hall of Shame" anyway, because we are pretty cool guys (I mean girls! Awww, I wish I were a man. Maybe then I could understand what a pointer was so I didn't have to program in Java on windows sadface).
The reason why he said it was probably because he hasn't has a whole lot of sex in his life. Seriously, why are we making a big deal out of this? It's not like he said that women should be shot and killed systimatically. Does he really need all this flack? No. You all are disgraces to the Feminist Geek movement, and should feel bad because what you did here is bad.
I'll leave you with this one thought: Have you ever met RMS? He changed my life. In more ways than one.
