Penguicon is a convention of Science Fiction, Open Source Software, gaming, new media, and every geek interest.

As can be seen on the convention organizer site http:penguicon.info, a significant percentage of Penguicon organizers are women.

The Open Source Boob Project was a tiny and almost unnoticed incident that took place at Penguicon 2008. There was an enormous reaction on the web. This was a reaction to the blog post of one of the participants, theferrett, his depiction of it, and his attitudes toward it, more than to anything that happened in physical reality. OSBP was not a function created by Penguicon, and the organizers did not know about it until after the convention. Penguicon has clear policies in the program book against touching without express permission, and taking "no" to mean "no".
