Dana McCallum rape arrest

Noted transgender women's rights activist and senior Twitter engineer Dana McCallum (legally: Dana Contreras) was arrested and, on January 29th, 2014, charged with 5 felonies including rape and domestic violence.

McCallum is free on $350,000 bail and there is a restraining order against her, keeping her away from her victim.

Defense lawyer's propagation of rape culture

McCallum's lawyer John Runfola told the San Francisco Examiner that McCallum's victim is a money-grubbing liar and that McCallum is innocent.

Feminist community response

McCallum is a writer for the feminist Model View Culture blog, owned by prominent feminist Shanley Kane who has not made any statements denouncing McCallum.
